Minister of Information & Technology and Telecommunication Dr Umar Saif said that talks were in the act with both PayPal and Stripe with to contribution works in the country.
Talking to the media, the IT minister said that the government should examine and convince PayPal to guide service through a third party in Pakistan on similar lines to Egypt, where PayPal provide its meetings through a third party.
He said that the instruction had requested PayPal to allow Pakistani freelancers to conduct money to Pakistan as a one-way service. “Talks will be held with PayPal in this view in a week’s time,” he said.
The IT minister also recommended that talks with Stripe, another payment processing platform, are also ongoing.
Last month, caretaker IT Minister Umar Saif expressed his resolve to “PayPal and Stripe to Pakistan”.
The IT minister explained the proposal to transfer PayPal, Stripe and Wise to Pakistan with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) officials.
During the meeting, dollar withholding accounts and joint debit cards for IT companies to enable IT companies to enjoy and spend their dollars easily were also discussed.

- Dollar retention accounts and corporate debit cards for IT companies to allow IT companies to retain and invest their dollars smoothly.
- Increase the next stage of RAAST merchant payments (P2M) with an invitation-to-pay ability.
