Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani was born in June 9,1952. In the wake of learning at the University of Punjab (M.A., 1976), Gilani joined the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) in 1978. Yusuf Raza Gillani was the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan, his real name is Miran Mustafa assumed the name Yousaf. This name chose by his maternal granddad, Makhdoom Ghulam Miran Shah when he was born on June 9, 1952, at 314 Lawrence Road, Karachi. His dad Syed Alamdar Hussain Gilani want him to be a doctor. However he was unable to get admission in medical school and college because of merit. In 1985 he chose for the government parliament. He got an arrangement in the bureau of Prime Minister Mohammad Khan Junejo, however, a contention with Junejo prompted Gilani’s supplanted in 1986 and in his possible underestimation inside the PML.
Yusuf Raza Gillani family and Education:
Yusuf Raza Gillani naturally introduced to a conspicuous group of landowners from the Punjab province, mostly from his family who had a political background, including his dad, Alamdar Hussain Gillani, who was a minister at that time. Gillani’s family moved to Lahore after his early study where he gets his degree of B.A Journalism in the 1970s from a Government college university. He further continued his study and in 1976 he had done M.A Political Journalism from the University of Punjab. Later he married to Fauzia Gillani and they have four sons and one daughter.
Speaker of National Assembly
After the General Election, Yusuf Raza Gillani get his ministerial post in the Ministry of Tourism in the reign of Benazir Bhutto who was prime minister at that time, after that he became a senior member of parliament of Multan District. His party gets the plurality in the general elections of 1993 and Gillani elevated as the 15th Speaker dated 17 Oct 1993 of the National Assembly. He elevated by the former Prime minister of Pakistan and his party head Benazir Bhutto. He held his post until 16 Feb 1997.
Imprisonment
Yusuf Raza Gillani arrested on dated 11 Feb 2001. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested him which was military-controlled at that time. The government made agency in 1999 named anti-corruption agency overcharges that he along with other politician friends misused their duty powers and authorities while he was the speaker of the National Assembly. He also accused of hiring more than 600 people from his constituents and placing them on the government payroll. NAB claimed that Yusuf Raza Gillani cause Rs.30
Prime Minister of Pakistan
On 22 March 2008, the top-class individuals from the Central Executive Committee acknowledged the nomination of Yusuf Raza Gillani over famous Ameen Faheem for the post of PM. In the meantime, the Pakistan People’s Party finished discussions and exchanges with different parties to shape an alliance partnership and the union supported the assignment. The formal announcement of the prime minister expected that night. On 22 March at 9:38 pm Islamabad, Gillani formally declared by the people party as its candidate for prime minister election.
On 24 March 2008, Gillani chose as Prime Minister by Parliament, crushing his opponent, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of the PML-Q, by a score of 264 to 42. He confirmed by Musharraf on the following day. On 29 March, he won a consistent demonstration of positive support in Parliament.
On 19 July 2008, Yusuf Raza Gillani appeared on Pakistan Television (PTV) in his first address to the nation. The main points in his address focused on the crisis of flour shortage, load-shedding, terrorism and extremism, restoration of judges, economic downslide and improvements and, above all, inflation and unemployment in the country.
Yusuf Raza Gillani’s Cabinet :

Opposition Leader
His disqualification term finished in April 2017 and Supreme Court permitted him to challenge in the 2018 Pakistani general election. On 12 March 2021, He challenged for executive of the senate of Pakistan and lost to his opponent Sadiq Sanjrani. With 7 votes in support of himself dismissed, Gilani got 42 votes, contrasted with his opponent who got 48 votes.
